The VHF location
Actually we use two locations for VHF, depending on availability.
This location used to house the center where all data of coastal weather conditions, weather buoys, current measurements, tide and wind, etc. was processed.
This centre used to be the QRL of the founder of the contest group;
Mar, PE0MAR. (SK)
and has been used for more then 20 years.
Nowadays it is for sale, but the PA6NL group is still able to use this location in most contests.
In case admission is not possible we move to the "spare" location given below.
In this picture you can see the three 144 Mc antenna systems. Two on the left hand side of the large tower and one on the rigth hand side.

A better look at the three 144 Mc antenna groups.
The East and West group each consist of 4 * 7 el yagi's.
The South group consists of 2 * 7 el yagi's.
All antennas are home-made based on the DL6WU design.

Alternatively we use this tower for 144 Mc operations.
It is the lower tower of a pair of two. They are located at the entrance to the harbour of Rotterdam.
Each tower has a red ligth in the top and are positioned in such a way that they guide incoming ships to the middle of the harbour entrance. In that case the red ligths are perceived as being "on top of each other" as seen from the bridge of the incoming ship.
The wide space behind the ligth is used to install the equipment.
The lower tower has no elevator, water or washroom so is avoided as much as possible.

This picture is taken from the (higher) other tower.
It can be seen that the towers are positioned on the axis of the waterway leading to the harbour of Rotterdam.
The "take-off" of this tower is excellent.
